Ways to Give

Three Ways to Help Build a Well

Every gift goes toward a village well. Choose the way that fits you.

  1. Give any amount. Your gift joins others to complete the next village well and the field work that goes with it.

  2. Give monthly toward a complete well. Your monthly gifts build toward a full well. When they reach the amount needed, we drill the well and let you know.

  3. Sponsor a complete well. Fund a full well yourself or together with your family, company or group. Write to us at hello@breakthroughwater.org, and we’ll share the current amount and arrange the details, including the well’s plaque.

Questions

Where does my gift go?

Your gift is received by Wisdom For Asia Ministries, Inc., a 501(c)(3) public charity, and designated to Breakthrough Water. Gifts are combined to complete the next village well and the field work that goes with it.

How much does a well cost?

The cost depends on the depth, the ground and the kind of system a village needs. Every gift helps. To sponsor a complete well, write to us at hello@breakthroughwater.org and we’ll share the current amount.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. Wisdom For Asia sends an email thank-you after each gift. Gifts from U.S. donors are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and a yearly giving statement is available on request.

Who does the work on the ground?

Trusted local partners confirm each village’s need with community and local government leaders. Experienced drilling companies drill the well, and our team follows every project through to completion.

What happens if a pump breaks?

Each well is handed over to the community and the local government, who care for it day to day. Communities often handle minor repairs, and when a significant problem is reported, we work to help resolve it.

Can I sponsor a well in someone’s honor, or as a company or group?

Yes. Write to us, and we’ll arrange the details, including the name on the well’s plaque.

Do the wells serve everyone in the village?

Yes. Every well is a shared source of water for the whole community.

What your gift supports

From Drilling to a Shared Water Source

Your gift supports the field work required to bring a local water source into use. Depending on the setting, that may include a village well or a school water-distribution system using a pump, storage tank, pipes, and taps.

Every project is grounded in a real place and documented through field records and authentic photographs.

Verified Details From the Field

Everything we share comes from confirmed field records and authentic photographs.

What we can share varies by project and may include the village, completion date, well depth, the depth at which water was found, photographs, and recorded community figures.

We share only what has been confirmed for each project.
