Breakthrough Water is a program of Wisdom For Asia Ministries, Inc. (“Wisdom For Asia,” “WFA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how we handle information connected with breakthroughwater.org.

Information We Receive

Email and Updates

Our website provides an email link and a sign-up form for updates. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. If you sign up for updates, your email address and any name you provide are sent to Mailchimp, the service we use to send them. We add you only after you confirm your subscription, and every email includes a link to unsubscribe. Review the Mailchimp privacy policy for its practices.

Donations

Our Give page includes a donation form provided by REACH. You can also open the secure WFA giving page separately. REACH may receive your name, contact details, donation amount, designation, payment information, and donor-account activity.

Payment details are handled within REACH and its payment providers, including Stripe. Our website does not collect, store, or process payment-card information. Donation services may use cookies and technical information for security, payment processing, account features, and measurement. The current REACH form also loads Google Analytics and hCaptcha; these operate within the donation experience, separately from our website analytics.

Website Analytics and Technical Information

Our public website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated website statistics. This service does not use tracking cookies or identify visitors to us personally. We use Google Search Console for search performance and indexing. We do not add advertising pixels, session replay, or targeted advertising to our website pages.

Hosting, email, and security providers may receive information such as your IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, and visit time to operate, protect, and troubleshoot their services. See Vercel’s analytics privacy information.

The Well Map

When the map is in view, your browser requests background images from OpenStreetMap. Its servers receive ordinary request information, including your IP address and the referring website. Our map does not request your device location. Published well locations are rounded to approximately one kilometer and exclude private donor and operational records. How We Use and Share Information

We use information to respond to requests; administer and acknowledge donations through WFA’s systems; operate and protect the website; maintain records; and meet applicable accounting, tax, and legal obligations. We send nonessential updates when a person has requested or agreed to receive them.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information with providers that help us host the website, deliver email, administer donations, process payments, or secure our services. Providers have their own agreements and privacy practices. We may also share information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, our services, or our rights.

Donor Privacy and Field Photographs

We do not publish a donor wall, raw donation records, or internal donor notes. A donor or dedication name may appear in an approved physical-plaque photograph when public use is permitted. We respect documented anonymity and recognition restrictions.

We use authentic photographs and verified stories to document the work with dignity. If you or your child appears in material you would like us to review, correct, or remove, email us at hello@breakthroughwater.org.

Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly invite personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review it and remove it when appropriate.

Retention, Security, and Your Choices

We retain information as reasonably needed for its purpose and for applicable accounting, tax, legal, security, and organizational requirements. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

You can ask about information we hold, request correction or deletion, unsubscribe from nonessential communications, or raise a privacy concern. Some records must be retained for legal, accounting, tax, security, or legitimate organizational reasons. We review requests and respond as appropriate under applicable law.

External Services and International Visitors

Other websites and services have their own privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information. WFA is based in the United States; information connected with a visit or donation may be processed there or in other locations used by our providers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our website, services, or obligations change. We will post the revised policy with an updated effective date.
